Offers
Offers may be item for item, item plus Barter Bucks (BB) for item, or BB for item. An offer becomes a trade when both parties accept the agreed terms, including any fee shown in the fee preview.
SafeTrade
SafeTrade is our trust and logistics process. It is designed to reduce risk and add accountability, but it does not eliminate all risk and is not a legal guarantee. You remain responsible for meeting the agreed handover and for trading responsibly.
Escrow
Where a trade involves BB, the required amount is locked in escrow and released once delivery is confirmed. BB is a fixed internal marketplace currency: 1 BB = 1 BB. BB is not cryptocurrency and is not an investment. If a trade fails, locked BB is not released incorrectly and any deposited item follows the return process.
Intellectual property
The Barter Bucks brand, site and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify or use our brand or content without permission. You retain rights to content you create, and grant us a licence to display it as needed to operate the service.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Barter Bucks is provided on an “as is” basis. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable Australian consumer law.
Account suspension
We may suspend or restrict accounts that breach these Terms or our Community Guidelines, to protect the community and the integrity of the marketplace.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Courts of Victoria will have jurisdiction, subject to any non-excludable rights you have under law.
